Advice & research

Our cutting-edge, innovative consultants are trendsetters in their domains. PopVox helps solve problems and prevent them. PopVox gives the anonymous city a voice. The name PopVox stems from the Latin, Vox Populis: the voice of the people. In our research we focus on the silent majority, which is made up of many different groups, all crucial for our society.

PopVox translates abstract targets and ambitions. The abstract policy document will be turned into concrete actions. These concrete choices will be presented to relevant target groups, and especially to groups that are often considered difficult to reach. The response rate from these groups is often low, but we break this pattern by using the newest applications in social media and research, communicating at the right level.

Record / play:
PopVox records the thoughts and beliefs of many different target groups. We record to hear, develop, and transmit effective policies that reach deep into target groups. Policy fields become playing fields. Play!

With Debatemobile, PopVox has developed its own innovative software: a real-life device driver to download opinions from voices that are often difficult to hear.

Advice on Incubator concept & business cases

Never change a winning formula! Or is change a must?

Trudo, a housing corporation and the developer of a huge Philips land, Strijp-S in Eindhoven, asked PopVox to conduct research into the opportunities there for an incubator, using Creative Factory* as a model. This means without subsidies, but with concrete, sustainable partnerships with education, government and big businesses. The results will be published in the summer of 2011. More about the Creative Factory model can be found under Alliances*. PopVox strengthens the format and tunes into local needs and opportunities.

Labourmarket of the City of the Hague

Researching immigrants in the Hague

The government of the City of the Hague wants to reflect the people of its city. But their experience was that immigrants were difficult to find to talk to, and even more difficult to keep talking to. PopVox set up an investigation using the Debatemobile. The PopVox-partners listened to young immigrants inside and out of the City administration, getting concrete insights that helped the City to change its recruitment processes and its unconscious prejudices. PopVox strengthens all voices.

Long term youth policy for Rotterdam

Researching Rotterdams youngsters

Most long term policies are written without extensive knowledge of those that own the problem. The Rotterdam minister Geluk took a different approach: he wanted a 1,000 young people to tell him what he should do as the first minister for Youth.
PopVox designed the process alongside the Youth department and executed it with Debatemobile, focus group meetings, movies and a debate. This way the minister created a long term policy with wide support and made the national news. PopVox strengthens the Young city.
